I just recently started yoga again. Bending this way and that, twisting here and there, has been extremely therapeutic both physically and emotionally. Last Sunday's class was Athletic Yoga. After the the challenging Kurmasana pose, it was finally time for the Savasana, or Corpse pose. As I was lying there focusing on my breath with eyes closed, my instructor, Francesca came over and placed her lovely hands on my hairy ankles to correct my pose. The poor woman. What was I thinking! I felt really dumb, but then I rationalized the situation by creating scenarios in my head like: "oh, she'll just think I'm earthy." But then I started getting paranoid and was imagining her telling Kelly, the studio owner, that she touched my hairy ankles. That's it, I'll be the laughing stock of the studio! Crazy, right? Finally, I composed my inner world, stopped the madness, and ordered some yoga tights to cover my legs. Obviously, capris are inappropriate for winter.
It's not that I don't shave during the winter, in fact, at the moment my gams are as smooth as a baby's butt--I just don't shave as often. Now I'm going to take a few yoga breaths and forgive myself for this indiscretion. Namaste.
A preview of things to come

Hip Chick's Guide to PMS, Pregnancy, and Babies
Too funny! I went to physical therapy because I had surgery on my foot/ankle and boy was I in need of a pedicure and a mow in many areas. Poor guy, I'm sure he went home and told his fiance. Oh well. Been married 18 years and sometimes you just can't care who touches your hairyness! Anyway I always thought yoga gals were pretty hairy anyway, ha just kidding!
